CONSERVATION… IN LANDOWNERS’ HANDS

• The Eastern Cape is internationally renowned for its exceptional biological diversity, with seven biomes and three global biodiversity hotspots intersecting the province.
• The greater Kromme / Kouga area, in particular, contains endangered and critically endangered eco- systems that are home to a number of threatened species that are endemic to the area.
• Most of this natural wealth is currently not protected and is therefore under potential threat.
• With most of these important, biodiverse areas lying on private land, you as the landowner have the potential to play an extremely important role in the conservation of these areas.
